4 Things That Will Regularly Upgrade the Church

Have you ever noticed that pretty much everything gets updated or upgraded? With the advent of the digital age, anything that is technology based gets upgraded every 18 months to 3 years. If not, it becomes obsolete. Because of this, businesses upgrade their processes and operations with a similar rate of frequency. Most people update or upgrade something in their living space approximately every five or more years (7-15 for some carpets or appliances). Hollywood, the music industry and even sports franchises upgrade themselves in regular intervals. Yet, the one place that often seems to be behind the curve is the one place that should be leading the way; the Church.

In many instances, the church often lags behind when it comes to technology; oftentimes being the late adopters. This is probably because in many instances, leaders are trying to gauge whether the latest technology or trend fits into their theology. Perhaps, it may even be a matter of safety or practicality. In spite of what has been the trend regarding the Church and the lag in upgrading itself, I believe that God is about to flip the script for the Church and bring glory to is as a leader in innovation. How can the Church transition from being the tail to being the head?

Getting Rid of Fear: Fear is often a crippling spirit that causes many to become paralyzed and impotent. Those who remove fear from their life and walk in faith enough to not just embrace the new, but even venture to develop it will move the Church from being halted to being progressive and forward moving.

Moving in Dreams and Vision: Those who are blessed with vision and dreams that enable them to see what things are coming before they happen will position themselves and the Church for advancement. If the Church can really begin to see things through dreams and visions and properly interpret them with the right strategies, you will begin to see a shift take place in how thing happen in areas of healing that will astonish both the medical, therapeutic and pharmaceutical industries. You may also find that there will be an ability to aid government with resources and services that are unhindered by bureaucratic red tape. Those who have the right foresight will lead in the transformation of media, education, arts and entertainment industries as well.

Increasing Capacity for Love: Those who search the depths of God's heart will find strategies that will bring about changes for family services, healing family dynamics, building the bridges that restore relationships throughout communities and justice for those who have been dealt with unjustly. Those who embrace love will heal hearts that have been deprived of respect, honor, trust, and authority.

Being Intentional in Prayer and Kindness: It is said that to whom much is given, much is required. As the Church has been given the gift of communing with God in prayer, it behooves the Church to be intentional about praying as prophetic watchmen to gain the necessary downloads from God for how to engage society on all the seven mountains with the proper actions as salt and light. Through intentional actions of goodness and kindness, favor will abound and it will propel the Church forward.

Quick to Forgive and Show Grace: The more that the Church is able to be forgiving and show grace, it will find itself being upgraded to new levels of favor with both God and humanity. Having this level of favor will position the Church to be sought not only in times of crisis but also more frequently in times when natural means and solutions escapes world systems.

I believe that this time of shifting towards the Church being upgraded will begin to occur in quick cycles as it wakes up to the heart of God and love becomes the central fruit of the Spirit that it operates by. While humility will also be essential, as would also the other spiritual fruit and gifts, love must be the center and the foundation that raises the Church to the place it should be.
