Before You Enter 2022

Make no mistake, the year that you are about to enter will be challenging. I shared something in January of 2020, where I mentioned that this would be the decade for soaring. Although, right now, it may not appear to be like you’re soaring by any stretch of the imagination, do not lose heart. When birds are learning to fly, they will sometimes stumble before their wings are strong enough to support them and the wind that provides them the lift they need.

However, my charge to you as you enter the new year is to settle your thoughts and agree to disagree with how things appear. Believe for what you desire and know God promised. The apostle Paul says of God, that He is someone who brings dead things back to life and creates new things out of nothing (Romans 4:17). Believe for how you want things to appear. Pray for God to show you how to move towards that thing.

Agree also, to disagree with those who are in opposition to the things of God. The recent position by those in government want to divide Americans between those who have and those who have not complied with their shot call; even to the point of wishing ill will to those who reject their push.

It reminds me of Daniel and the other Hebrew boys who dared to not eat the king’s meat. While it was customary for those taken captive to oblige the king and partake of what was set before them when in his service, Daniel and the others took a vow to not eat of it because of their devotion to God and the Hebraic and Kosher dietary customs of their faith. Because of this, they fared better than those who did not. They were also honored by God and man for their stand.

I believe that those who dare to agree to disagree with certain things that go contrary to what they know God has said to them will find that they have unmerited favor and honor in 2022 and beyond. They will find themselves being strengthened and in a position to take flight like eaglets.

Stand Firm:

This is going to be a year in which you are going to have to know what you know and stand firm in your faith. There are things that will be presented in the days ahead which may cause you to question whether or not you really believe what you believe. I’ve seen it in recent days and know it will increase. In my time when I was studying for my master of divinity degree, I became well aware of how there are some who come out of the journey questioning their faith. It is at a greater degree than those who enter non-Christian colleges for the first time and are challenged by what they knew before they left their parent’s homes.

Standing firm is going to be necessary to push through to the successes and accomplishments that God wants to see you achieve. Paul again encourages many to put on the whole armor of God so that they are enabled to stand (Ephesians 6:10-20). If you know that you have been called to build, launch, grow, move, or start in a certain place, stand firm in that knowing. Do not allow anyone or anything to deter you from that knowing. Don’t allow how things currently look or feel to dissuade you. Listen to the voice and promptings of God, believing that there is ample provision for you.

Broaden Your Faith Zone:

Let me be clear about this one thing. 2022 is a virtually unknown quantity. It is just like the Israelites who came to the bank of the Jordan River. It was said of them that they had not passed this way before (Joshua 3:4). Crossing into 2022 is like that Jordan River. There is a promise that God has set for you, but you must broaden your faith zone to believe that you can cross and enter into what God has said He has made available for you.

It can seem quite daunting and scary, but faith must cast out fear! Courage must endure! Boldness must arise! Your ability to agree with what God said and walk into it unwaveringly is an absolute necessity. So, set yourself apart from those that are without faith, and unto Him is all strength, step forward and see what unfolds.

Speak with Conviction and Clarity:

Do not forget that this is a decade for speaking. Speaking in 2022 is emphasized through agreement with God and what has already been spoken. So, when you speak, speak with conviction and clarity that you have greater on your side. Speak knowing that the authority that you walk in is not your own, but God’s. May you exit 2021 with hope and enter 2022 with great courage and strength to see everything that God has already spoken.
