Building God’s Way: Part Four

One of the things that amaze me to this day is the way so many people can have a vision for something in a place where nothing exists. Perhaps that is part of the thing that God placed inside of us that makes us like Him. Previously, I’ve shared how in building God’s way, we need to have a vision and that can begin by creating a vision statement or even a Vision Script. This time, I’d like to take a slightly different approach and share an overall vision.
Building What You See

One of the amazing things about God is that He sees a thing, speaks it, and then He sees what He spoke. The process for us should be the same way. We should capture a vision or perceive something within us. Then we should speak it. As we do this, we gradually begin to manifest the thing that we speak. There can be many ways in which this is accomplished. Again, some people can do this through a vision board, a vision statement, or some other way. It’s the same way God gives prophetic vision. Some see through a waking image or picture, while others will have a literal dream. Others still may have a mere impression within them.
You can find various ways in which God approaches people with vision. He spoke to Moses and asked, “what’s in your hand (Exodus 4:2)?” He asked Jeremiah, “What do you see (Jeremiah 1:11 & 24:3?” He asked Amos the same question (Amos 7:8 and 8:2). The questions are asked, not because God doesn’t know the answer, it is to reveal to the person that something has been placed in them that He desires to unfold through them. That vision is to awaken them to what is possible. It is destiny, hope, purpose, and life.
It amazes me how an artist can look at a lump of clay, a blank canvass, a slab of marble, and see great works of art. It also amazes me to see an architect or land developer look at a parcel of land and go from a blueprint or model and create whole communities.
Yes, see the vision that God is giving you. Then follow God’s pattern. It’s my prayer that you take the vision, dream, or the plan that God has placed within you and not just see it, but progress to speaking it until you see it in its fulness.
It’s in the speaking it that keeps it before you. Some people call this meditation or affirmation. Speaking it helps you to crystallize it as you’re working towards it. One of the things that cause people to not fulfill what they say is by quitting to continue to speak it. They grow frustrated because it just sounds like words. Yet, for those who keep speaking it, it becomes the momentum for producing what they’ve seen and spoken. Before Muhammad Ali was someone who kept saying “I am the greatest!” until he was considered by the whole world to be the greatest of his time in the world of boxing.
Let this be the year that you see what God showed you, speak what you saw, and see what you spoke! May it grow to its fullest and fruitfulness. May what you build be the thing that pleases God because you dared to build it God’s way!
