Beginning September 15, 2023, through September 17, 2023, Jews and many Christians will be celebrating the Jewish New Year, also known as Yom Teruah. In previous years, I’ve shared a few thoughts on the prophetic significances that I’ve found surrounding the incoming year and how we as Christians can press into it. I'd like to share a few thoughts again for this coming year.

As many of you may know, the Hebraic year 5784 carries great numerical significance. The 84 in the year 5784 speaks to two things that hold great importance, not only for this year but also for the decade that we are in. The number 80 is representative of the Hebrew letter “Pey” and speaks to the emphasis for the decade. More succinctly, it is a decade (2020-2029) that highlights the importance and power of prayer. Where the previous decade was viewed as the decade of the eye, this is the decade of the mouth and what we say will have significant influence and impact as a catalyst for life and blessing or death and cursing (Proverbs 18:21).

How we pray and how we agree in prayer with the will and word of God will have a great impact on the events of this decade. As we have seen great division socially, politically, economically, and spiritually, it is incumbent upon us to partner with the plan and will of God. Prophetically, we understand that when we pray, we are actively operating as Kingdom agents on the earth to bind and loose those things that are already bound and loosed in heaven (Matthew 16:19, Matthew 18:18).

Secondly, the 4 in 84 speaks to the Hebrew word “Dalet” and is representative of a door. Doors often speak to opportunities and access. When we consider a door that is open, it signals the opportunity to advance, to enter, to gain, and to discover the possibilities and potential that are beyond a current place or position. There is a second aspect “Dalet”. The Talmud speaks of Dalet as representing the poor positioning themselves before God or the charitable giver so that they might receive.

In all of this, I believe that the Hebrew year 5784, which is from now through this time in 2024, will be a year where we as believers will operate from the perspective of both giver and receiver. As we press into prayer, praying in agreement with what has been established in heaven, we will act as administrators and distribution agents of all that God desires to pour out upon the earth. There are abundance and blessings that have been held in store for the time that we are entering. There is a great and effectual door open for us so that we might accomplish what we have been placed here to fulfill.

Regardless of what things may look like, our goal will be to agree with what God has said about this time and season. In the same way that Caleb and Joshua dared to believe what God said, we too must agree with what God has spoken about us, who we are, and what we are here to accomplish.

Psalm 2:8 says, “Ask of Me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for your possession.” We must have faith to believe that God has given us nations for our inheritance. This requires expanding our capacity to see and reach. Deuteronomy 28:12 says, “The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many but you shall not borrow.”

We’re entering a new year where doors of opportunities to win, gain, influence, impact, prosper, build, and bless will be opened to us. However, as with any door that is open, we must also choose to go through the door. I must also add a caveat to this because we must understand that perceptive enough to recognize and discern that not every door that is open to us is necessarily a door that God has opened. We must also perceive the doors that our enemy may present to us. They will look good but there will be a price attached. The doors that God will are for our good and for us to bring forth his glory in the earth.

See this new year as the open door for favor and blessings, not just to prosper us, but so that we may be agents of blessing. Dare to go through the doors that God has set before you for access has now been granted.
