On the evening of Monday, September 6, 2021, the Jewish celebration Rosh Hashanah begins. It concludes on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. It is their New Year 5782, which precedes our own new year 2022. There is much prophetic significance, as each new year holds great potential for what God is speaking to His people; both Jewish and the Church. As I have shared in the previous two Rosh Hashanah celebrations, the decade of the 5780’s signifies a decade where God is emphasizing speaking as it is the decade of the mouth, which is represented by the number 80 and the Hebrew letter Pey. With this being the year 5782, it not only speaks to an emphasis on speaking it also hints specifically at agreement, unity, and division.

In looking at the new year 5782 and the that of 2022, the agreement will be something that will be highlighted. As God is always looking for someone in the earth to be in agreement with Him and His word, those who are in agreement with what He has said and is saying will find great favor a flow in the Spirit. When God wanted a nation, he looked for a man named Abram who would agree to get out of his country and go where God led him. The net result was the birth of a nation and a lineage that brought forth the birth of a savior who would pay the sin debt and reconnect a world with its Creator.

The Church that was birthed from the resurrected Jesus needs to find her agreement with her head Christ. A Church that agrees with her head will move with great power, accuracy, and authority. As Kingdom agents, the Church represents a King. When agents, ambassadors, or emissaries operate in the authority and agreement of the sending ruler, the authority is unmistakable. We may find that in this year, those who are in agreement with God and His word are able to shift the prevailing narratives, climate, or even the beginnings of reformation that must take place in each of the seven mountains, especially government, family, and media.

The new year will be a time of great division or separation, as we begin to see many people awaken to much of the deception and evil that has permeated various spheres of society. As people begin to see where there has been significant influence by dark principalities, powers, and rulers, it will become a time of great separation. This won’t just be people within the church, but there will be many who will find that they can no longer affiliate themselves with things that they find in conflict with what they know the Bible says or things they know to be right and just. There may be a great walking away by people from industries and sectors who find themselves in conflict with those things they view as immoral or indecent.

Division and separation are an aspect of God’s nature as He wants nothing to do with evil or incorruption. Matthew 25:32 says that in the final judgment, God will gather the nations and separate the people in the same manner that a shepherd separates sheep from goats. In Matthew 13:30, Jesus shares the parable of the wheat and tares, speaking of how the planter will allow them to grow together and then, only at the time of the harvest comes the separation. What I believe this emphasizes for the year 5782 and the year 2022 ahead is that there will be people who will separate from things that they’ve said in the past, realizing that previous beliefs or words spoken no longer represent them or what they currently understand. In a great awakening, things change, so it stands that in a time when a great reformation is called for, a change in thinking and speaking will occur as well.

As this is a time for great reformation, it must also include an opportunity for unity to occur. Unity through what is spoken is a powerful thing, as it can be plainly seen that such divided voices have plagued these last few years with chaos and trauma. If God’s people can become unified in what they speak, there is nothing that cannot be overcome. We see in Genesis 11 that the people of that time had great unity so that God had to come down to separate them because they were unified unto a wrong purpose. However, a Church unified unto a holy purpose can upset the status quo of what has been a steady decline in culture for far too long.

Something that I have not mentioned here yet is the fact that the Hebrew letter bet, which is the second letter of the Hebrew alphabet and is represented by the number two, also holds the meaning of a house or dwelling place. In as much as this is a season for speaking and a year that emphasizes agreement, unity, and division or separation, it is also a year that denotes those who dwell under the shadow of the almighty and in the house of the Lord. This is not just within the four walls of the church building but in the presence of God. A prophetic people, nation, or company hosts God’s presence and makes a place where God can dwell among His people. Those who will host the presence of God will find an unfolding of a Kingdom atmosphere that has not previously been seen or known since the early days of the Church. Let’s pray that this year becomes one in which God is glorified.
