The Move Towards Being a Resource

When Rosh Hashanah 2022 came around, which began the Hebrew year 5783, I did not do a post in which I presented any of my insights for what I believed it prophetically meant for the new year. As this Hebrew year carries through into the year 2023, I still struggled with whether or not to share anything, as there has already been sufficient time passed and voices greater than mine who have thoroughly spoken on it. However, I believe that now the time has come where I can share a few insights that I believe will provide encouragement and even a sense of focus for the year ahead.
As you may be aware, the Hebrew season we are in is the season of Pey (identified by the number 80), which signifies the mouth or the voice. The years between 2020 to 2029 are a time in which it emphasizes

the ability to speak, declare, decree, proclaim, prophesy, and pronounce what God is saying in this season. It is not only to say what God is saying but to also be watchful for what is spoken. Words have power and whatever is spoken carries weight. When you look at the creation story in the book of Genesis it says repeatedly, “God said.” Then, everything that God said, He saw. Thirdly, when God was done, what He saw He declared that it was good. We are told that the power of life and death is in the tongue (Proverbs 18:21).
The power is not exclusive to God but to every tongue. So, we must watch what we say because what we say has the ability to bless or curse, create or destroy, bring life, or cause death. In the same way that Jesus spoke to a fig tree (Mark 11:21), what we speak has power. With this in mind, we can begin to see the potential that this has for the decade we’re in, how significant our voice is, and why we need to be focused on being the voice that God is calling for in this season.
Along with it being the season of Pey, this is the year of Gimel (identified by the number 3). The Hebrew letter Gimel is associated with the image of a camel or a man walking. It paints the picture of a benefactor moving towards someone in need to make provision and provide help or assistance.
What is the significance of being a benefactor and being a voice? What I believe God is going to emphasize this year is being people who are able to provide or produce prosperity in the lives of others through what we speak. It will be like Joseph being called to Pharaoh during his greatest hour of need to not only prophesy his dream but to also provide a wise solution to the situation that had just been prophesied.
It is interesting to see how insightful Psalm 23 is to people this year. As we read it, we see how God is our provider and supplies our needs. I believe that this is a year in which God is enabling His people to be voices that provide wisdom and solutions that are life and blessings to those who have need. If we trust God in this season, this can be the year in which great transformation, restoration, and redemption can happen.
Many of you are deep wells of wisdom and understanding; not only in spiritual matters but also in natural things. The wealth of wisdom and insights you carry can bring deliverance and provide safety to those who are willing to hear and make application of it. If we are the recipients of the wealth of provision as David spoke of in Psalm 23, we have the opportunity to be an extension of that to others as a conduit. We simply have to move towards those we see as having needs.
In 2023, the move towards being a resource has the capacity for boomerang blessings. We know this to be true because we are told that it is more blessed to give than to receive; yet when we give there is reciprocity. Seeds that are sown produce a harvest. Therefore, there is an expectation that as you free avail yourself to be a resource and move towards that in this year, God will reward you as you extend yourself through the words you speak.
